Italy - Milan
Leaving and going back isn’t the same as never leaving at all.
I’ve had the luxury of visiting Milan Italy in 2013. It’s 2021, 8 years later, and I’m grasping with the notion that curation and documentation of these trips will be what leads these adventures into obscurity.
I was reading faux paux today, things to not be an embarrassing tourist in Italy, - and an excerpt from Buzzfeed had this:
“It's true that Italy is home to some of the most stunning archaeological sites, architecture, art, and history in the world. But remember that "il dolce far niente," the concept of enjoying yourself while doing nothing, originated in Italy, and there's no better way to experience a culture than doing as the locals do.”
So I’ll give it my best shot - broke down to adventures, food, and misc fun. Il Dolce far niente indeed.
Firstly I present to you first the 2013 photos.
Here’s two sets of photos - I think the only real difference is the camera quality. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, but I can tell more artistic mmph went into these, shot on my 2013 Nokia Lumia Phone.
I’m searching for something profound to say, but this Duomo is as beautiful as can be. In a center across lies a McDonald’s and luxury shops, but it’s recreation of every city center, Italian style.
Food
Pizza “wood-fired” and Italian style. AKA, wood fire stoves on every corner, way more relaxed and in tune with itself. Italian food is confident in itself, the whole city is confident and relaxed and it shows. Rissoto- you can taste the rice and rich flavors, the fried beef veal similar to a pork chop. I can count the flavors, identify them, and just love them. No more complication needed.
Fun and the crew
Before I forget GROM was the best gelato I had in my life. Anyways here’s the fun photos and selfies of the first day. Walking around, showing our Vax cards, drinking Coke zeros that look like Coke. I hope this captures the spirit of vacation and documentation.
